Special Welcome to our New Head of School

With our first graduating class now off in college, Bronx Prep has entered a new phase of organizational development.  Our founding challenges have largely been achieved, and our school community is truly fortunate to have recruited Dr. Samona Tait Johnson to take the school to its full scale and its next level of educational achievement.

Dr. Tait brings a combination of teaching, administrative, management, and mentoring experience to Bronx Prep’s top leadership position.  In addition, she is personally familiar with the Bronx and the role Bronx Prep can play in the lives of children, their families, and the community.  Dr. Tait grew up in the Bronx and attended public school before going to Horace Mann through the Prep for Prep program.

Founder Kristin Kearns Jordan passed the executive baton to Dr. Tait after commencement last June but will continue to be actively involved in the school as a member of the board.
